God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Another introspective self-portrait. This has no inherent religious connotations, but I do find the lines of the Serenity Prayer particularly beautiful and fitting for the emotion I wanted to convey in this painting. This deals in some small part with the nature of time...the snake dually symbolising immortality and eloquence. Poppies as they always do symbolise remembrance and the rose which is blend between the traditional deep pink and red dually symbolises admiration and sincere love. The koi represents perseverance in adversity.
